What is Z-Index?

Z-Index is a CSS property that controls the stack order of elements on a webpage. Elements with a higher Z-Index appear in front of those with lower Z-Index values when they overlap. While Z-Index is primarily a design tool used to manage the visual layering of elements, it can have implications for SEO and user experience. For instance, ensuring that important content or calls to action are not obscured by other elements on the page is crucial for maintaining a good user experience, which is indirectly related to SEO.

Additionally, misconfigured Z-Index values can lead to usability issues, especially on mobile devices, which can negatively affect bounce rates and overall site performance. Proper use of the Z-Index property ensures that a website's design elements are presented in a way that supports both aesthetic appeal and functionality. While Z-Index is not a direct SEO factor, it contributes to the overall user experience, which is an increasingly important aspect of search engine optimization.
