What is a CTR (Click-Through Rate)?

Click-Through Rate (CTR) is a metric that measures the percentage of users who click on a link out of the total number of users who viewed it, commonly used in both SEO and PPC (Pay-Per-Click) campaigns. In SEO, CTR is an indicator of how appealing and relevant a search result is to users.

A higher CTR means more people find the listing interesting enough to click through to the website. Factors influencing CTR include the title tag, meta description, URL, and the presence of rich snippets like ratings or images. While CTR doesn't directly affect rankings, it can indirectly impact them. If a page consistently receives a high CTR, search engines may interpret it as more relevant or valuable, potentially boosting its ranking.

Improving CTR involves optimizing meta tags to be more compelling, ensuring the content matches user intent, and using structured data to enhance the visibility of search results. Monitoring and optimizing CTR is crucial for maximizing traffic from search engine results.
